Vaccine Choices and Informed Consent Workshop

On May 2 at 10am, the Informed Consent lecture will be held at Connecticut Friends School’s Wilton campus. The event, organized by Dr. Risa Sloves, Dr. Diana Lopusny and Beth Lambert, is being sponsored by Women of Wellness of Connecticut.

In addition to covering vaccine policies, speakers will inform citizens how they can take action to protect informed consent and defend their rights and freedoms. Panelists will discuss whether individuals have the right to know and the freedom to choose whether or not to be vaccinated.

The featured speakers include Theresa Wrangham, National Vaccine Information Center’s (NVIC) executive director. She also monitors federal vaccine advisory committee meetings and is a consumer reviewer for Cochrane Collaboration and Consumers United for Evidence-Based Healthcare. She was a co-leader in spearheading NVIC’s successful campaign in Colorado in 2013-2014 to defend the personal belief vaccine exemption and has participated in other government public engagement initiatives for various vaccine policies. Mary Holland, another featured panelist, is a research scholar and the director of the Graduate Lawyering Program at New York University’s School of Law. She also chairs the advisory board of Health Choice and is a founding board member of Elizabeth Birt Center for Autism Law and Advocacy. She co-authored the book Vaccine Epidemics and has written many articles on vaccines and autism. In addition, Roman Bystrianyk, who co-authored Dissolving Illusions: Disease, Vaccines, and The Forgotten History with Suzanne Humphries, MD, is scheduled to participate. The book focuses on how vaccines, antibiotics and other medical interventions are not solely responsible for the increase in lifespan and the decline in mortality from infectious diseases.

The workshop is $25 a person with advance registration, which is strongly recommended as seating is limited. If seats are available, $30 cash only will be accepted at the door.

To register, send a check for $25 a person to Diana Lopusny, 88 Noble Ave, Ste 101, Milford, CT 06460, and include the names of those attending, a contact phone number and email address. Quaker Meeting House at Connecticut Friends School is located at 317 New Canaan Rd (Rte 106), Wilton.
