On May 21 from 2 to 5pm, a Hearts for Horses fundraiser will be hosted by Rising Starr Horse Rescue at John’s Best Pizza in Ridgefield.

Tickets are $30 per person for food and fun. A cash bar will be available. All proceeds go to Rising Starr Horse Rescue to support rescue efforts for slaughter-bound horses and education on the reality and responsibilities of horse ownership. Silent auction items will be available. Sponsorships are still available as well as a few silent auction spots. All donations are 100 percent tax deductible. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Once registered, you will receive a number via email that will go into a drawing to be held at the event.

Located at Moonlight Farm in Redding, Rising Starr Horse Rescue saves one equine life at a time from cruelty or slaughter. They educate the public about the cruelty of horse slaughter and to create solutions to decrease the number of unwanted horses in the United States. ​
