Functional Medicine Physician Returns to Greenwich Roots

Gina Carlotti, MD

Dr. Gina Carlotti has returned to her hometown of Greenwich to establish a personalized functional medicine practice. Carlotti, a board-certified family physician, is board-eligible in integrative/holistic medicine as well as in addiction medicine.

Functional medicine is an individualized systems-based approach to optimal wellness that expands upon traditional allopathic practice by seeking not only to diagnose and treat a person’s symptoms but also to investigate why a person develops specific conditions. To do this, Carlotti explores the interactions between a person’s current state of health, genetics, environment and lifestyle. A multi-modality treatment plan is then created.

“My goal is to help each of my patients thrive,” says Carlotti. “Together, we develop a plan that helps him or her live life to the greatest potential – however, he or she defines that.”

Carlotti’s practice focuses on general health and wellness as well as the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular and cardiometabolic diseases, endocrine disorders/hormone imbalances, chemical sensitivities/exposures, mental health concerns and substance use disorders. Carlotti graduated from Jefferson Medical College with honors and completed her family medicine internship and residency at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She combined her clinical training with a Masters of Bioethics (MBE) at the University of Pennsylvania, from which she also graduated with honors.
