Northeast Organic Farming Association of Connecticut’s annual celebration of local food, organic farms and all things sustainable will take place on March 1 at Western Connecticut State University. The 32nd annual Winter Conference will focus on beginning farmers who are providing food for Connecticut and growing farmer support programs and networks.

The 2014 Winter Conference will feature workshops for all levels and interests as well as local vendors and exhibitors. Keynote speaker Frederick L. Kirschenmann will discuss young farmers, new farmers and an inclusive approach to the local food system. Conference teachers include garden instructors, Connecticut farmers, chefs, community activists, organic land care professionals and nutritionists. Attendees will also have the opportunity to sample from local farm-to-table restaurants for an additional fee of $15.
