The Storytellers Series
Calling All Storytellers to Warm the New Year!!!
Nancy Howard Cobb—author, storyteller and interviewer--will help participants “edit” and shape stories for live presentation.
In lieu of writing, the spoken word takes precedent and also center stage in January 2020. After refining and shaping 10-15 minute tales of joy, sorrow, surprise, love, or loss, the storytellers will be given the (optional) opportunity to present their work to friends and family for a festive evening celebration at the Wainwright House.
Whether serious, hilarious, surprising or heartbreaking, our true life stories are important to share in real time and in three dimensions, with nary a screen in sight.
Imagine an intimate setting—a kind of hearthside stage--where it will be safe to develop and fine tune a story you’ve always wanted to tell in a setting of other “tellers’ of all ages. Everyone has a story that deserves to be heard—and told.
Akin to the Moth Story Series that began in a thrift shop in Soho over a decade ago, The Moth has gone on to garner a national audience on NPR and presentations in live and lively venues in U.S. cities from Coast to Coast.
