Melissa Katz, a licensed speech-language pathologist and owner of Beyond Words Language & Cognition, has opened a private practice providing specialized speech-language services for adults in Fairfield County and throughout Connecticut.

Katz specializes in working with adults who have experienced stroke, brain injury, concussion, brain tumor and other neurological conditions. Through teletherapy, she provides individualized care for clients experiencing challenges with language and communication, cognition and memory, attention, voice and swallowing.

Katz founded Beyond Words after recognizing that many adults and families have difficulty finding specialized speech-language services following a neurological diagnosis. Her practice is designed to make these services more accessible to adults throughout Connecticut while providing care tailored to each client’s individual needs.

In addition to therapy, Katz hopes to bring education to the local community through presentations and workshops focused on brain health, cognitive wellness, communication and healthy aging. As a Fairfield County-based clinician, she is also looking forward to building connections within the local community while helping individuals and families become more aware of the specialized resources available to adults.
