Mindfulness Series Offered to People Living with Parkinson’s Disease and Their Caregivers

Community Mindfulness Project (CMP) together with Shaker’s Anonymous will host a series of short mindfulness sessions designed to support people living with Parkinson’s Disease and their caregivers. There will be four weekly events, starting Thursday, June 10th, through Thursday, July 1st, all taking place from 7:00pm - 7:30pm, via zoom. The 30-minute sessions will provide various types of mindfulness and meditation each with its own method for providing respite, and all of them based on neuroscience. The sessions will also provide an opportunity to build community and share resources. “Even small moments of mindfulness throughout the day can help us to shift how we relate to what life throws at us, allowing us to manage our stress levels and support our physical, mental and emotional well-being. These tools can be especially helpful when we’re dealing with a chronic illness or caring for a loved one who is. “ Erika Long, CMP co-founder In an effort to reach this community in the safety of their homes, the Community Mindfulness Project (CMP) is offering this programming online via zoom, at no cost to participants. No registration is required. Those interested can access the program through this url: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84559085628 or for more information visit Community Mindfulness Project’s website, www.communitymindfulnessproject.org Current studies indicate the breadth of benefits from a mindfulness practice, including improved emotional regulation, focus, resiliency, compassion, and mental and physical health.   All people interested in mindfulness and meditation are welcome to join us 7-days a week and start experiencing the benefits of a regular meditation practice.
