Pranayama (Yogic Breath Work)

Exploration of breathing techniques and the sound elements of chanting. Prana means "life force" and yama means to "restrain". Pranayama is used to manipulate the life force in your body. Our prana travels with the breath – they are not the same thing; the breath is the vehicle for our energy.
The practice of pranayama makes the breathing muscles stronger which means a bigger breath and more oxygen to your body. With concentrated practice you will be able to absorb more prana for mental clarity and physical vitality. You will learn several breathing techniques that can assist in purifying the body, breaking through any barriers that may inhibit the mind from settling into silence. Turning breath into sound is a natural progression and powerful way to experience a deep connection with the world around us. If you wish to just listen and not chant that is totally ok! The only side effects of this workshop is a calm and relaxed body and mind.
