Functional Yoga for Athletes
A 3-hour workshop is designed for athletes at any level of fitness
Whether you run, hike, dance, compete in sports, or exercise regularly, this workshop will help you achieve a balanced body and a calm mind through mindful movement.
In the first segment (70 minutes), Anita will lead you through a master flow that will get your blood flowing and energize your body. After that, you'll take a short break and participate in a discussion on the practical benefits of yoga postures. You'll learn how yoga can help you loosen tight areas specific to your chosen sport, and also build mental resilience, balance, and core strength.
The second segment (60 minutes) will focus on breaking down the stretches and core strengthening exercises. You'll discover ways to loosen tight hamstrings, hips, shoulders, and back. You'll also learn how to strengthen your core, which will help you to achieve better balance and stability in your chosen sport.
Finally, the last segment (15-20 minutes) is a seated meditation that will help you center, calm, and relax your body and mind. This will be a perfect way to end the workshop and leave you feeling rejuvenated and balanced.
