This event is taking place in person in New Milford, CT - Presented by Cate Nixon MUSHROOM MANIA! Join us in the classroom for a fun and informative all about our local fungi we love to search for. Mushrooms are a joy! - not only for the nutrition, flavors, and medicine they offer us, but because they are so satisfying to find on our adventures. Join us to get to know some of the popular edible and medicinal mushrooms found in our little corner of the world here in the Litchfield hills. We’ll go over characteristics, benefits, identification, where and when to find them, and some recipes! We’ll talk about morels, chaga, oyster mushrooms, chicken of the woods, hen of the woods, reishi, and turkey tails. Cate is a lifelong organic practices gardener, viticulturist, and community herbalist whose passion is sharing the wonders of our plant friends with others. Cate uses her connection with nature and the energies around us in her practice as a green witch and loves connecting others to the magic she has found there. Cate guides the group in foraging and harvesting medicinal herbs and fungi around the CT & NY area.
