DIG Farm Youth Academy
DIG Farm Youth Academy for ages 10–18 offers flexible options like drop-ins, homeschool units, and committed paths, with classes in sustainable farming, foraging and herbalism, creative culinary, wild basketry, and homesteading skills.
D.I.G. Farm is a nonprofit teaching farm in North Salem, New York, whose mission is to reconnect communities with the natural goodness of farming. Standing for “Dealing In Good,” the farm focuses on regenerative practices by growing organic vegetables, fruits, and herbs.
The D.I.G. Farm Youth Academy is the organization’s latest project, focusing on youth aged 10–18. It offers expanding classes in foraging and herbalism, sustainable farming, creative cooking, wild basketry, homesteading skills, and beyond.
FLEXIBLE OPTIONS for everyone:

🖊️ Exciting CLASSES:
• Sustainable Farming (Mon 10–11 AM): Permaculture principles, seasonal planting, trellising, harvesting, preserving bountiful yields.
• Foraging & Herbalism (Mon 11 AM–12 PM): Plant ID, ethical harvesting, botany, safe herbal creations (infusions, decoctions, syrups, salves, tinctures, poultices, compresses, wild ferments, plant dyes, and more).
• Creative Culinary (Mon 12–1 PM): Farm-to-table meals with foraged goodies.
• Wild Basketry (Fri 12–1 PM): Forage and weave.
• Homesteading Skills (TBD).
