Walk with Birds and Aliens in Greenwich

Bruce Museum will host its First Sunday Bird Walk on December 6 at 9am. Enjoy a leisurely outdoor walk to learn about wild birds at Greenwich Point Park, including the winter waterfowl. Bring binoculars and meet on at Greenwich Point Park’s beach near the southern concession stand. The event is free with no reservations required. In addition, Bruce Museum will host its Fred Elser First Sunday Science @ Seaside Center on December 6 from 1:30 to 4:30pm. The Aliens! Invasion of the Long Island Sound Estuary event will include a talk at 2pm with George Kraemer, professor of environmental studies and biology at SUNY, Purchase. He will discuss research on the influx of non-native plants and animals into Long Island Sound, with a focus on the Asian shore crab and a red seaweed called Grateloupia. Family activities will be offered throughout the afternoon. The free event will be held in the Innis Arden Cottage at Greenwich Point Park in Old Greenwich.
