Digging Deep for ViBe Café Well

SOUND opened its doors on December 15, 2012 in an 1800s historic chapel in Newtown. For the past five years, it has been a gathering place for many area residents to learn, explore, heal and grow. Until now, visitors to SOUND have had to drink bottled water due to the unpotability of the water from the property’s antique, hand dug well.

Instead of closing due to the water obstacle, SOUND’s stewards have chosen instead to upgrade the site and begin to offer more community services. They will be opening ViBe Cafe and Coffeehouse to support local and independent artists and artisans while fostering conscious community and true human connection. In order to do this, they have had to dig a new bedrock well, a lengthy and costly process.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help defray the cost of this special project, dubbed the Sacred Water Well. With community support for clean, potable water, ViBe Cafe will soon open and become a place for local artists, musicians and spiritual seekers to hold events and conscious discussions.
