Happy Heart Health Month! As you can see from the cover on, we’re big fans of the heart around here. This edition features articles related to improving heart health through various lifestyle metrics; foods and recipes that promote cardiac healing; how to bring more love, sex and magic into our lives; and more.

At the heart of Natural Awakenings since 1994 has been founder Sharon Bruckman. Without her desire to connect people with health living resources, you wouldn’t be reading this magazine today. Recently, she passed the torch to new CEO Kimberly Whittle, who is also CEO of KnoWEwell, which acquired Natural Awakenings Publishing Corporation in December 2022.
“We’re growing a movement as we share knowledge, celebrate healing success stories, provide access to evidence-based resources and create meaningful connections while helping today’s consumers, whole-health providers, mission-aligned nonprofits, businesses and advertisers prosper,” says Whittle. “Together, we’re addressing global, local and personal issues—the nexus for consumer consciousness, healing and hope.”

Learn more about the mission of Natural Awakenings, the merging with KnoWEwell and this new chapter, in our feature on page 12. Almost 30 years later, we are still going strong across the country, connecting communities to the most timely information related to living a healthy life on a healthy planet.

Our Natural Living Directory issue is back again this April! Contact us today if you’d like to participate. Our community is always looking for new practitioners, businesses and activities to help them on their wellness journey—your specialty could be just what they need! Our Early Bird Discount ends February 15. See the back cover for more.

I look forward to working with you, and I know our readers will as well.
