Stepping Stones’ Open Air Kid’s Musical Series

Stepping Stones Museum for Children will present a four-part musical performance series, Celebration Sundays, beginning in July in the museum’s enhanced Gullquist Family Celebration Courtyard. The family-oriented line-up will feature an array of Folk, Motown, Pop/Rock and Latin artists. On July 26 Tom Chapin, called by Billboard Magazine “the best family artist around,” will perform his life-affirming original songs. On August 16, Souled Out Motown and More will appear, a musical ensemble specializing in the great Motown and soul sounds, with awesome visuals and dancing. September 13 will bring The Jimmies Gimme Jimmies, “a band for the shorter set,” who receive rave reviews for their brilliant silliness. October 11, look for Sol y Cando El Doble De Amigos: Twice as Many Friends, an award-winning Pan-Latin ensemble led by Puerto Rican/Argentine singer and bongo player Rosi Amador and New Mexican guitarist and composer Brian Amador, with calypso, reggae, and more. Ice cream sundaes will be available for purchase after each show.

Stepping Stones’ museum exhibits, educational programs and special events complement efforts in schools, childcare centers and homes. With four main galleries, a toddlers-only gallery and more than 100 hands-on activities, Stepping Stones offers children ten and under plenty to explore and discover.

All shows start at 5 p.m. Tickets for each performance are $15 per person, and children under one year old are free. Stepping Stones is located in Mathews Park, 303 West Avenue, Norwalk. To reserve seats, call 203.899.0606 or visit SteppingStonesMuseum.org.
