Balance Your Chakras Through Dance
Dec 02, 2015 11:54AM
In shamanic cultures, it is believed that if there is imbalance in our lives (depression, stress, illness, even addictions) it is due to a disconnection with our spirit. Chakradance is a free form, spontaneous dance that aligns the chakras, our vital energy centers and connects us with our spirit. Bi-coastal Reiki healer and Chakradance facilitator, Khristee Rich, has traveled from Los Angeles, California, to lead these healing workshops in Fairfield County.
Starting in December, Rich will be teaching a variety of Chakradance workshops throughout Fairfield County. Introduction to Chakradance will be held on Sundays at 2pm at Just Dance in Norwalk. On December 16 at 7pm, Introduction to Chakradance: A Seated Dancing Meditation will be offered at Saltana Cave in Ridgefield. Redding Meditation Center will host Introduction to Chakradance: A Winter Solstice Celebration on December 22. Workshops at Basil Yoga Center in Ridgefield will begin in 2016.
Chakradance is a guided dance journey of the seven major chakras. Each class includes dance, chakra education, healing music, mandala art creation, candlelight and meditation. Described as “Reiki in motion”, it is suitable for adults of all ages and previous dance experience is not necessary.
In class, participants dance with the eyes closed while specific music is played to align the chakras. Similar to a healing Reiki session, participants see visions while they dance. They connect to the collective unconscious, see memories, flashes into the future, even bright colors. Emotions stir up and are released.
