Fanning Fitness, in Westport, is a health and healing ministry that strives to address each person as an individual with their own unique needs. Owner Leslie Catherine Fanning offers personal training, nutritional counseling, group classes and natural healing modalities to address the whole person, inside and out. Fanning not only addresses the physical body, but she also wants each person to become whole. This includes addressing the mind, body, spirit and soul.
“Many people have emotional roadblocks, traumas and injuries that need to be addressed so they can be directed on a path to complete and total well-being. My goal is to help each individual develop confidence, self-esteem and mastery over the mind, body, spirit and soul,” says Fanning, who has been a Certified Personal Trainer for 13 years. She is certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and holds CPR/AED certifications. She has trained in martial arts for over 10 years and has a black belt.
Fanning uses unconventional training methods incorporating strength training, flexibility training, cardiorespiratory training, boxing, martial arts and dance. All training programs are tailored to the individual, according to what they are looking to accomplish. “I can work with you if you want to rehab an injury, lose weight, gain weight/muscle, sports specific training, pre- and post-natal, seniors and more. I work with all demographics and will tailor the program to address specific goals and needs,” she explains.
