Craig Norton, founder of Hands on Drumming, has published his second book, Welcome to the Circle, sharing stories and “magic moments” from nearly 30 years of leading community drumming experiences throughout New England.

The book explores themes connected to music education, music therapy and the benefits of drumming across generations, from nursery schools to nursing homes. It also follows Norton’s personal journey of building a creative small business around work he loves and using music to create connection and positive experiences in the community.

Community drumming has grown as a wellness activity that brings people together through rhythm, movement and shared musical experiences. Norton has led drumming-for-wellness sessions for a wide range of groups and has presented on the subject at conferences throughout the United States.

Through Welcome to the Circle, Norton offers readers a look at the community drumming movement while sharing stories about creativity, entrepreneurship and following a personal calling. He plans to offer lectures, book talks and musical events featuring stories from the book, live music performances and conversations inspired by its themes.
