Natural Awakenings Fairfield & Southern Litchfield Counties

Leaders Rally Online Together for Green Movement

Live Green CT! and FAME Advisors with Daphne Dixon and Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch

Through networking, conferences, education and a new website to showcase local sustainability projects in various Connecticut towns, Daphne Dixon is creating a virtual space for community members, local government leaders and businesses to come together and share green case studies and resources that provide economic payment and environmental protection. Dixon is the president and
co-founder of Fairfield-based Live Green Connecticut!

The LiveGreenCt.org website will go live during a press conference January 7 at 2pm at the Fairfield University Accelerator and Mentoring Enterprise (FAME)on the upper deck at 1499 Post Road in Fairfield. The dates and locations of three 2015 Live Green Connecticut! municipal conferences will also be announced at the press conference. The conferences will provide opportunities for green businesses and local governments to collaborate on sustainability ideas and present their projects to the public. Ridgefield First Selectman Rudy Marconi, Wilton First Selectman Bill Brennan and John Kydes, chairman of Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling’s energy and environment task force, as well as other dignitaries, are scheduled to attend.

“We’ll be showcasing multimillion-dollar projects in seven towns and cities starting with Fairfield County,” Dixon said. “Then we’ll broaden the scope to include web pages for other municipalities in Connecticut. The point is to have community members discover and learn about projects in their own towns and then share these projects with other municipalities, so that all communities can start saving money and making their town’s greener.”
