Danna Anderson, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Summary/services offered: I practice integrative and holistic psychotherapy, blending traditional clinical practices with energetic, somatic and ancestral work as well as mindfulness practices. Additionally, I am a Yoga Alliance-registered yoga teacher and a Reiki master teacher. I see people who may be going through a difficult time in life, who want to make significant changes or who may be going through life transitions, as well as people with anxiety and depression. I also work with people in various levels of recovery and family members of people in recovery.
What drew you to the profession? When I was 13, I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. At the time, and throughout my middle school years, I was extremely sick. My mother took me to see a functional medicine doctor and I slowly healed through nutrition, exploring different healing methods and deep self-care. I continue to explore the many ways I can heal myself and feel it is my life calling to share this work with others.
How does your work differ from others in the profession? I will never ask something of my clients that I have not experienced myself. Together we look at the root causes of what may be getting in the way of health and well-being. I use my clinical background and pair it with intuition and insight, so my clients can learn how to trust in themselves. There is deep connection and presence in the work we do together.
What should someone expect from working with you? I take a proactive approach and listen deeply to help people create more flow in their lives, so they can reach their full potential. I incorporate yoga, breath practices and energy work when needed into my sessions with clients.
What changes do you plan for 2020? I am currently training in family constellations. It is some of the most profound work I have ever done on a personal level. I plan on teaching family constellation workshops and continuing to train and learn.
What is most important for Natural Awakenings readers to know? I am passionate about the work I do, and I love my clients! Healing takes great courage—it is not for the faint of heart. I would be honored to help you on your journey.
