Sedona Art and The Ridgefield Arts Council’s Make Music Event
Make Music Ridgefield is joining over 1,000 cities worldwide in a global celebration of music inspired by France’s Fête de la Musique on June 21. Sedona Art is making it easy for families and children to “paint to the music” during the Make Music Family Music Event and other musical events scheduled throughout the summer. Sedona Art will make discounted Grab & Go Paint Kits available, which will include everything needed to paint or draw along to the music. All Make Music Ridgefield events are free and open to the public.
The “Paint to the Music” children’s event will be held at the Aldrich Museum on June 21, from 2 to 3pm. Kids will have the chance to paint to the music performed by the Western Connecticut Youth Orchestra. Several varieties of the Grab & Go Paint Kits starting at $20 will be available. Each kit will include a canvas or drawing pad, paints (acrylic or watercolor) or colored pencils and paint brushes. Portable easels will also be available at a discount.
There will be musical performances for people of all ages during the Make Music Festival and all summer long. Enjoy opportunities to paint and share creative, artistic expression while enjoying time in community, with family and with others.
Miles Davis once said, “A painting is music you can see and music is a painting you can hear.” Artists and musicians of all ages are invited to hear the sounds and create the images that move them in the moment. Unlike a typical music festival, Make Music Ridgefield is open to anyone—young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion. Performers can register on the website at MakeMusicDay.org/Ridgefield.
