This bright, colorful issue is a celebration of food. There are so many options and ideas on how our attitudes about food and health have changed. Especially recently, there have been many exciting and important advancements in our food systems that were in some ways forced, due to so many factors involving the pandemic. Our feature article, “The Healthy Food Movement”, on page 22, talks about some of the changes that are making healthy, local food more accessible to all.

Hear from local experts Dr. Neeru N. Kaushik and Dr. Neha Kaushik on the Ayurvedic wisdom concerning best nutrition practices, on page 18. Then, on page 20, Jessica Chichester writes about the connection between our food intake and our mindset. From the foods we eat to the time we take to eat them, all aspects of nutrition are important to our wellness.

From there, we have some fun with edible blooms that can add color and flavor to summer dishes in “Flower Power”, on page 26. You can also try somae colorful, flavorful recipes both in this magazine and online. We have many recipes available on our website, eNaturalAwakenings.com, under the Conscious Eating tab. Enjoy!

Don’t forget the incredible importance of buying local foods whenever possible. Support your local farmers, communities and your family’s wellness by putting healthier, fresher options on the table.

Now, dig in!
