Challenging Minds LLC & Wellness Center believes in treating the whole person through offering holistic service options, including: Reiki, massage, reflexology, yoga, meditation, breath work and an infrared sauna. Challenging Minds also offers mental health counseling, for both groups and individuals.

How does your work differ from others in your profession?
The purpose of developing the Wellness Center in Bantam was to offer our clients more holistic options and also a space to utilize therapeutic group work. When a client’s whole self is considered, the outcomes are always better and more sustainable. Through a holistic approach to mental health needs, the client often feels more empowered, especially as they learn techniques that they can practice on their own, such as meditation and breath work.

What should someone expect from working with you?
Challenging Minds LLC began on Peck Road as a group practice in 2019, and continues to thrive, employing over 10 clinicians. All of our clinicians have diverse treatment specialties and the practice accepts all ages and diagnoses. Five of our clinicians are trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, which is an evidenced-based treatment for those struggling with anxiety, depression and especially trauma and phobias.

What changes do you have planned for 2023?
The Challenging Minds group practice and the Wellness Center staff are committed to working with the teens in our community, especially as the community rebounds from COVID-19. We will once again be supporting the Litchfield High School baseball team, this year with breath work training. There will also be an in-person social skills teen support group and multiple online clinical groups available throughout the year.

What is most important for Natural Awakenings’ readers to know?
Along with our focus on mental health supports for clients of Challenging Minds LLC, the Wellness Center is offering homeopathic options for those who would prefer to avoid only allopathic medicine. Some of the current homeopathic treatment options offered are Reiki, massage, reflexology and an infrared sauna, by Sunlighten. Each of our providers has many years of experience and provide treatment options in a setting that is ideal for decompressing and ultimate relaxation.
