The 2026 Natural Living Directory for Natural Awakenings Fairfield & Southern Litchfield Counties is here, and I’m truly excited to share it with you. This annual resource is more than a directory. It reflects a community that cares deeply about living well, making thoughtful choices and supporting one another in building a more sustainable way of life.

This issue, centered on our Sustainable Together theme, invites us to look at sustainability through a wider lens. It is about caring for the Earth by protecting natural spaces, reducing waste and being mindful of our environmental impact. It is also something more personal and, in many ways, more foundational. True sustainability begins within.

As April unfolds, I find myself setting small, intentional goals that honor both personal well-being and the health of the planet. I am paying closer attention to the products I bring into my home and onto my skin, choosing cleaner, less toxic options. I am making an effort to slow down by creating space for rest, reflection and time outdoors, while also finding simple ways to reduce waste and rethink everyday habits. These are not sweeping changes, but they are meaningful, and together they create a sense of balance that feels sustainable.

How we nourish our bodies, manage stress, choose products and avoid toxins all play a role in a sustainable life. When we care for ourselves in consistent and intentional ways, we build a foundation that allows us to show up more fully for our families, our work and our communities. Personal wellness and planetary wellness are deeply interconnected.

Within this year’s Natural Living Directory, you will find a diverse network of local practitioners, wellness centers and businesses dedicated to supporting whole-person health. From integrative and naturopathic medicine to bodywork, mental health support, nutrition, movement and spiritual care, these listings help you build a circle of support that sustains you not only when challenges arise, but every day.

Throughout this issue, our editorial content explores sustainability in many forms, from homemade skincare to composting to restoring the spaces we live in. Each article offers a different perspective and reminds us that sustainability is not one-size-fits-all, but something built through small, thoughtful choices over time.

April also brings Earth Day, a meaningful reminder of the connection between our daily choices and the health of the planet. I encourage you to explore local events throughout Fairfield and Southern Litchfield counties, whether it is a community cleanup, a workshop or simply time spent outdoors.

Sustainability is something I care deeply about, and it is woven into the work of Natural Awakenings in every facet of what we create and share. Our intention is to support a way of living that is balanced, conscious and enduring for individuals, for communities and for the Earth.

I invite you to return to this directory often and let it serve as a trusted resource that grows with you.
