Open Studios Weekend: Stamford’s Largest Art Experience

Celebrating two years of art in their new home, the Loft Artists will open their doors, inviting the community to visit, mingle, and tour the studios of more than 40 working artists “It is a chance for us to get feedback on our latest work, and many visitors appreciate getting behind the scenes to talk, look and enjoy,” says Loft Artist Susan McCaslin. Visitors will find themselves among painters, sculptors, printmakers, photographers, ceramic artists, jewelry makers, and mixed media artists. The weekend kicks off with a party on Friday night, where live music, food, drinks and two floors of art make for a memorable evening. On Saturday and Sunday there will be a more leisurely tour of the studios. “We love talking about what we are working on and hearing what people have to say,” says LAA president Alissa Siegal. The Loft Artists Association, the area’s largest cooperative of working professional artists, is a non-profit organization dedicated to building connections within Fairfield County’s visual arts community as well as working to educate and involve the general public in the arts. For over 30 years, the LAA has continually reached out to the public through its members, a diverse group dedicated to sharing their appreciation of the power of art with the community they work in.

Fall Open Studios Weekend will take place Friday, November 6, from 6-9 p.m., Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8 from 12-6 p.m. at 845 Canal Street in Stamford.
