Why a green wedding? The wedding industry generates billions of tons of trash and carbon emissions, from fashion to jewelry to paper goods to food, so our choices have a significant impact on the planet. GreenSceneLIVE™ and the Green Bride Guide have teamed up to present solutions at Connecticut’s first green wedding expo, the traveling Eco-Chic Wedding and Home Show, at Stamford’s Chesterfield Hotel on Saturday, May 2. The expo will showcase local green options, from formal wear to jewelry to favors to invitations to honeymoons. On hand will be the Pierce Campbell Jazz Duo, organic food and beverage tastings, green lifestyle exhibitors, an eco-couture fashion show, complimentary engagement photographs, and raffle prizes. There will be circulating models, mini-seminars on posing and posture, on energy-efficient mortgages, finding green properties in Connecticut and do-it-yourself green weddings. A carbon calculator will even measure your wedding’s eco-rating.
