Natural Connections at Sticks and Stones Farm – June 22

On Saturday, June 22 Natural Awakenings magazine presents its next Natural Connections event: a family-friendly day of nature-inspired fun at Sticks and Stones Farm in Newtown. All are invited to this Annual Open House & Mt. Laurel Festival to sample various workshops, experience the Farm, and connect with local alternative health practitioners to learn about the benefits of various healing modalities.

Experience a “Mindful Eating” or “Law of Attraction” workshop, a class in belly dancing, yoga, astrology, or intuitive drawing, or a Tai Chi demonstration. Learn about Square Foot gardening, walk the new Moss Stroll trail, and experience a Labyrinth walk. Enjoy musical events including a Ukulele sing-a-long, a drumming circle led by Mark Zarillo, and a “Me and the Moon” kids concert and the Crystal Cymbology band. Come and meet Natural Awakenings’ new publisher, Nicole Miale, and learn about her passionate vision for the magazine.

For kids, Two Coyotes Wilderness Camp will offer a plant hike, fire demonstration, and interactive nature table where kids can learn to make string from natural plant fibers. A mindfulness class for children will be taught by Casey Skillins of Easton Country Day School.  An archeological dig for kids is also planned.

Although Sticks and Stones is a working farm, it shares its tranquil setting – 60 acres complete with streams, hiking trails, and forest preserve - with individuals, families, and groups who are seeking rustic day and weekend retreats. The Farm also hosts an organic garden, yoga, healthy culinary classes, and children’s summer camps.

Bring family and friends for a great day at the Farm. Raffle drawings will be held throughout the day – prizes include free workshops, classes and products generously donated by local businesses and practitioners. Soup, salad and corn bread will be served from the Farm’s new kitchen.

This event is free and will be held on Saturday, June 22, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Rain date is June 23. Sticks and Stones Farm is located at 201 Huntingtown Road in Newtown. To RSVP or for more information call 203.270.8820 or visit SticksAndStonesFarm.com to see the complete schedule of events.
