SolarCity, a full-service solar provider, is available for Fairfield County customers to help energy users look at energy usage and identify opportunities for improvements. SolarCity performs the entire process – from permitting through installation – and provides ongoing monitoring and repair services for solar panels.
Lyndon Rive, CEO of SolarCity, and his brother, Peter Rive, founded SolarCity in 2006 along with their cousin Elon Musk, founder of PayPal and Tesla Motors. “The company currently employs 7,000 Americans and is hiring 200 to 400 a week across the country,” Rive says. “The company is doing the impossible by taking on the utility companies and making the price of solar affordable for the common person,” he continues. “SolarCity is doubling in size every year,” says Rive. “Every three minutes, another household becomes a SolarCity customer.”
“SolarCity’s business model of no money down, free installation and free equipment has made going solar more affordable for the average person,” says Richard Love, the company’s field energy consultant in Westchester. “SolarCity makes the process easy with concierge service and friendly, knowledgeable employees,” he explains. “It also gives customers a warranty on the life of the system and various incentives.”
