Redding Meditation Center Offers Spring Weekend Retreat

The Redding Meditation Center hosts quarterly weekend retreats to give people the opportunity to engage in intensive practice at regular intervals. The upcoming Spring Weekend Retreat will begin at 7pm on May 1, and conclude at 5pm on May 3.

This retreat provides the chance to deepen a meditation practice by allowing you to cultivate self-awareness for an extended period of time without distraction. While the retreat will be conducted mainly in silence, there will also be Dharma talks and question and answer periods. As is the tradition with meditation retreats, all attendees will have a private interview period with the center’s resident monks, Achan Da and Achan Mongkol, as a further aid to their practice.

Hours of practice during the retreat will be from 7 to 9pm on Friday, 7:30am to 9pm on Saturday, and from 7:30am to 5pm on Sunday. Practitioners may also elect to attend either Saturday or Sunday only.

The cost to attend the full retreat is $60, which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday’s breakfast and lunch. The cost of one-day attendance, including meals, is $30. Participants are asked to secure sleeping arrangements. Some rooms and a list of other nearby accommodations are available at the center.
